Your Apple Watch knows when you're recovered.
Your nutrition app should too.

Tide is the first nutrition coach that adjusts your daily targets based on your sleep, HRV, and training load — automatically.

the gap

most apps treat your body like a spreadsheet.

you log food into a static target you set in january. but your body is different every day — last night's sleep, today's hrv, last week's training. tide is the only coach that closes that loop.

the static approachunchanged
2,400 kcalunchanged for 92 days
one number from january. same target on rest days, push days, and recovery weeks. set in onboarding, forgotten thereafter.

the weekly approachtrend-based

adjusts based on weekly weight averages. helpful for direction, but blind to recovery — you'll still under-eat through a poor sleep streak.

reads four signals from your watch every morning. today's number reflects last night's sleep and tomorrow's training — not last quarter's goal.

how it works

four signals in. one number out.

every morning at 6 a.m., tide pulls the same data your watch already collects, runs it through an on-device ai model that learns your body, and delivers a target you can actually trust — with the reasoning right next to it.

01 · INPUT
the four signals from your wrist.
pulled directly from healthkit. no extra hardware, no manual logging. each signal is weighted by recency, variance from your baseline, and how predictive it has been for you historically.

02 · AI MODEL
trained on your body, not the average person.
most apps use one formula for everyone. tide's on-device model builds a personal baseline in your first 14 days, then re-weights every signal based on how predictive it has been for you. private by design — inference runs locally on your phone.
hrv-guided periodization shows +12% recovery improvements vs static programming in trained populations.

03 · COACH
an ai you can interrogate, not a black box.
ask “can i have dessert tonight?” on your watch. tide answers in plain english using the same signals it set your target with — and shows its reasoning if you tap to expand. ambient by default, transparent on demand.
the field

a category of one.

tide sits at the intersection of nutrition tracking, hrv monitoring, and ai coaching. each existing category does one of these well. tide is the first to do all three.

hey — i'm yani. i've worn an apple watch for four years and watched every nutrition app ignore the data on my wrist. i'm building tide solo, in public, from algeria. the 50 founder spots fund the first version — thanks for being early.

questions

things people ask before they sign up.

how is this different from a weekly trend-based tracker?
weekly trend-based trackers are excellent at adjusting calories from weekly weight averages — a closed feedback loop on the scale. tide is a different loop. we use real-time recovery data (hrv, sleep, strain, wrist temperature) to adjust today's target, not last week's. the two can coexist: a weekly tracker for direction over months, tide for the right call this morning.
do i need a whoop, oura, or other strap?
no. tide reads everything from your apple watch via healthkit. if you also wear another wearable or a cgm, we can pull supplementary signals — but we built this so a single watch is enough.
which apple watch models are supported?
series 8 and newer (including se 2nd-gen and ultra). we need wrist temperature and the newer hrv pipeline, which were introduced with watchos 9 on series 8. series 6/7 with ios 17 will work in a degraded mode (three signals instead of four).
how accurate is the daily recalibration in the first 14 days?
tide uses population priors during onboarding while it learns your baseline. by day 14 we've got a personal hrv/sleep distribution and the model switches to your weights. most users see meaningfully different targets by week three.
what about my privacy?
health data stays on-device by default. aggregate model training is opt-in, end-to-end encrypted, and we never sell or rent your data. you can export or delete everything from settings, and we don't run analytics sdks that profile you for ads. we're funded by you, not advertisers.
when does tide launch?
public testflight opens this quarter — you'll get an invite the moment it does. founding members get access two weeks earlier and shape the roadmap. app store launch is targeted for late summer.
is the founding price really lifetime?
yes. $49 once, every premium feature forever, no upsells. we're capping founding at 50 because that's how many people we can give white-glove onboarding to. after that, it's $8/mo or $79/yr like every other app.
